Clifford Thames

Clifford Thames began as a printing company in 1948 and published two local newspapers, the Stoke Newington and Hackney Observer and the Wood Green Observer. The papers were sold in 1957 but the company continued in the printing industry.

In 1978, Ford Motor Company approached Clifford Thames to help with the data capture of warranty claims. Thus, Clifford Data Processing became the company’s first venture into the fledgling computer age. In time, data management overtook printing as the company’s primary function until it grew to become the industry expert in data management. The print elements of the business were sold in 2001.

As the company grew, it opened new office locations throughout Europe and Asia. OEC Holdings acquired Clifford Thames in 2017.
