OEC to Provide Mercedes-Benz with Vans Trade Programme to Help Increase Trade Parts Sales

NEWBURY, BERKSHIRE, UK, 12 March 2019 — OEC (formerly Bluegrasscoms), the leading automotive technology provider for original equipment manufacturers’ (OEM) distribution networks, has been awarded the contract to design and deliver the Mercedes-Benz Vans Trade Programme, with the main objective of increasing parts sales for the manufacturer. The OEC programme will provide a complete service of external sales support, including account management, administrative support, marketing and data management. Additional services include a GDPR-compliant central CRM system and central telesales.

Mercedes-Benz Vans older than four years that are no longer serviced at the dealership are typically repaired by an independent motor trader (IMT). The programme will focus on helping Mercedes-Benz build strong relationships with the IMTs by providing education and technical knowledge, pro-actively contacting customers and ensuring a complete delivery service.

OEC have a track record of success for executing Trade programmes in Europe, including:

  • Opel Trade Club
  • Vauxhall Trade Club
  • Nissan Trade Direct
  • PSA Trade Team

“The experience OEC have in running similar programmes is obvious. We believe that they are the right partner for our network and will drive the increase in parts sales in this area of the business through innovation and experience,” said Cliff Shelley, Service & Parts Product Manager - Mercedes-Benz Vans. “We are working closely together to ensure this programme is absolutely right for our network and will have the longevity in the marketplace.”

“OEC are delighted to have been awarded this Trade Programme. Leveraging our expertise and experience in executing similar programmes, OEC have demonstrated the ability to unlock additional sales and new markets in many areas,” said Stuart Bartlett, Chief Commercial Officer, Collision & Trade Europe. “Innovative concepts, such as CollisionLink solution, are significantly increasing sales by allowing companies to target sectors in which they previously had little penetration.”

Approximately 90 Mercedes-Benz dealers located throughout the UK will participate in the programme, which will be introduced via a phased rollout.
