Colour-Addix generates thousands in additional revenue with EstimateIQ

In June 2024, Colour-Addix adopted EstimateIQ to streamline its estimating process. The results have been remarkable—Colour-Addix added over $9,100 in revenue in just the first two months of using EstimateIQ.

According to General Manager Caitlyn Epting, EstimateIQ is now an integral part of their process. “We use EstimateIQ on every job we write,” she said. “I’ll review the estimates after our writers complete them, and then I use EstimateIQ to check for any missed items. Often, I’ll go back to the writers and show them how I added another $200 or more just by using the program.”

EstimateIQ is designed to review estimates in under two minutes, automatically identifying additional relevant operations, which often go unnoticed. This tool has proven beneficial for shops like Colour-Addix, decreasing supplements and capturing revenue that might otherwise be left on the table. On average, collision shops using EstimateIQ add over $115 per estimate, and Colour-Addix’s experience reflects this industry trend.

The tool’s ease of use has also won over Colour-Addix’s team. “Honestly, I don’t know how it could be easier,” Epting remarked. “The website is extremely easy-to-use. You just click it, and boom, there it is.” This simplicity allows both new and more experienced estimators to excel with the software. “It helps you button up things that should be on the estimate, but you might not think about,” Epting added. This feature has been particularly helpful in refining the work of newer estimators, boosting their confidence and accuracy.

Another aspect of EstimateIQ that impressed Epting was its reporting capabilities. “I love the reports, especially the location summary by estimator,” she explained. “It shows how much each person is adding, and it’s been a great tool for tracking performance.” By breaking down revenue additions by the individual estimator, Colour-Addix has gained valuable insights into their team’s efficiency, allowing for more targeted improvements in their estimating process.

The Colour-Addix team found the tool’s integration into their workflow seamless. The team typically works with dual screens, which allows them to keep EstimateIQ open alongside their estimating software, making it easy to cross-reference and ensure nothing is missed. As Epting noted, “Most of our writers have dual screens, so they just have it up right next to their estimates.”
