Background
Maher Chevrolet’s collision centre in St. Petersburg, Florida built its reputation on doing the job right. As a dealership-based shop, Maher Chevrolet answers directly to the OEM. Warranty repairs, brand reputation, and manufacturer audits all raise the bar for documentation and quality. The standard Maher Chevrolet holds itself to is proving every calibration and scan holds up to that scrutiny, which means the tools they use need to keep pace.
Summer Poirier has been part of Maher Chevrolet for fourteen years, starting at the front desk fresh out of college and working her way up through estimating and writing before taking over as collision centre manager two years ago. She knows every part of the operation firsthand, which is exactly why she went looking for better tools when she stepped into the role.

“RepairLogic allows us to put everything the insurance company needs into one place. As long as that repair plan is there with all the supporting documents, they are approving every single one.”

The Problem
Writers at Maher Chevrolet were juggling too much at once: parts, supplements, customer communication, technician questions, and building repair documentation on top of all of it. With their previous system, a bigger repair plan could take 30 minutes to a full hour. Writers were manually pulling procedures, highlighting relevant sections, and assembling everything for the insurance company.
Every gap in a repair plan was an opening for insurance adjusters to push back. Writers went into those conversations less confident, cycle times stretched, and the shop was leaving money on the table on every estimate.
The Solution
Summer first encountered RepairLogic at a local industry conference, where a presentation showed a direct correlation between using the platform and increased profit percentage based on labour hours. She came back the next day ready to train. Her team picked up the tool right away.
“Working in the collision industry, we’re visual learners. Having that car format where you can just click on the area you’re repairing and it gives you all the information right there. That’s really big.”
Rather than uploading individual PDFs or hunting through documents, writers build the repair plan as they go, adding procedures in real time just as they would when writing an estimate. When they are done, everything is compiled into a single, clean PDF that attaches directly in CCC. Because RepairLogic pulls from OEM documentation and updates as new procedures are released, writers are always presenting current, valid information. When an adjuster questions a line item, the answer is already there.
Technicians also have direct access to repair plans in the platform. They can log in and reference procedures without waiting on a writer, keeping the work moving and reducing back-and-forth across the shop floor. As a manager, Summer can check in on repair plans being built and confirm that supplements have been approved, giving her a clear picture of where every job stands.
How Business Has Improved
Time savings. According to Summer, repair plans that used to take 30-60 minutes now take 5-15 minutes. “You’re saving so much time that you can get back to everything else you need to do,” she says.
Estimate value. Summer estimates the shop has added an average of $200-$300 per estimate since adopting RepairLogic. Line items that previously went undocumented are now supported, submitted, and approved.
Approval rates. Summer puts their approval rate on RepairLogic-documented items at near 100%. When the PDF lands in front of an adjuster with everything OEM-sourced and organized, she says, there is very little room to push back. “My writers are definitely more confident with the information they’re presenting. With RepairLogic, it does all that legwork for you. They’re not second-guessing what they’re presenting or whether it’s going to get approved,” says Summer.
Cycle time. On a bigger repair, Summer estimates RepairLogic saves the shop half a day to a full day per vehicle. In collision, where cycle time is one of the most direct levers on profitability, she notes that it compounds fast.
Customer transparency. Summer’s team shares the repair plan with customers directly, showing them how their car is being repaired and to what standard. “It gives them that peace of mind,” she says, “knowing that when they get back in their car, they’re going to be safe.”
“Having a system that improves your cycle time, even by half a day, is going to improve your profit revenue. More cars in, more cars out, better repairs. If you’re in the collision industry, you will understand by ten fold how important that is.”
