Sean Schembri
Global General Counsel
Sean joined OEC in 2021 and is responsible for all of the company’s Legal Affairs and HR.
Prior to joining OEC, Sean served as General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, Chief Compliance Officer and HR executive to both publicly-traded and privately-held companies in diverse, highly regulated industries, including within the automotive, global fintech and pharmaceutical sectors. He has helped lead three acquisitive companies through successful sale processes to foreign-based strategic purchasers as well as numerous roll-up M&A initiatives. Prior to first moving in-house with GE, he practiced at prominent international law firms, including Squire Patton Boggs and Dentons, where he focused on advising corporate clients and their boards on complex issues involving corporate governance, SEC reporting, securities/derivatives, international transactions and M&A.
Sean holds a B.A. in History from The College of William & Mary, where he competed in NCAA football and track & field, a J.D. (with Honours, Law Review) and M.B.A. (with Highest Honours, Beta Gamma Sigma) each from the University of Missouri (while completing each degree at Tulane Law School and Tulane’s Freeman School of Business), and an LL.M. (with Merit) with a specialisation in International Commercial and Corporate Law from the University of London/London School of Economics.
