It's a common misconception that you can't compete against the aftermarket. Does it hold a lot of truth? Nope. 

How can I sell parts when the aftermarket is always cheaper?

Dealers are competitively priced against the aftermarket on a wide array of parts. Unfortunately, shops assume the dealer is more expensive and go directly to the aftermarket when needing to source their parts (that is exactly what the aftermarket has trained them to think!).
